Luke Littler admitted he does not know how he will perform at the Flanders Darts Trophy after undergoing emergency dental treatment.
The 18-year-old is due to make his return to European Tour action in in Antwerp on Saturday, but his preparations have been thrown off after he had to have a tooth removed on Thursday.
Littler has not featured on the tour since the German Darts Grand Prix in April, after a hectic schedule and crowd issues prompted him take a step back from events on the continent.
The world champion will finally look to add to his three European titles this weekend, and is set to fly out on to Belgium on Friday.
But the ‘Nuke’ revealed he was unsure if he will be able to reach his usual high standards, as he shared the news of his emergency procedure.
He wrote on his Instagram story: “In pain for hours and hours, so had to get tooth out.
“Luckily they were able to do it and sort me out but hopefully it’s all good for Saturday.
“Everyone knows I love Belgium and hopefully I can play my best darts.
“I don’t know how I’m going to be feeling in the morning whether I’m going to be in a little bit of pain.”
The teenage sensation also had a warning for any fans that may come across him whilst travelling to Belgium.
Littler added: “If you see in the airport I’m just going to have my airpods in and I’m going to be doing my own thing.
“So don’t be saying I’m arrogant because I’m not.
