ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Cool, rainy weather continues today with morning temperatures in the low 50s and a southwest breeze around 10 MPH, expected to get up only to the low 70s with increasing wind and cloudiness this afternoon. At that time a cold front will arrive, bringing widespread rain showers that will continue to help many regions improve their drought conditions – namely the Niagara Frontier. We’re Green on the Threat Tracker, as we do not expect severe weather or flooding with this front.
Chances for rain showers continue after the front through Friday morning, but these will be much spottier showers as opposed to widespread rain, and there should be some clearing in the afternoon. We’ll be even cooler on the mercury, due to northwest winds increasing as the low pressure center associated with the front passes off to our northeast. Temperatures will only get up to the mid 60s, and winds will peak at 10-15 MPH.
Labor Day weekend continues to look excellent overall. Still some rain shower chances Saturday morning, but other than that we’ll be nice and dry with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Saturday is still on the cooler side, with highs in the low 70s, then we get back up to the mid and upper 70s on Sunday and Monday respectively. Humidity stays down as well.
Expect dry, sunny, and warmer weather to continue through the first half of next week before another cold front approaches Thursday, bringing more rain and cooler temperatures.
