Berhampur: A fisherman went missing after a fishing boat carrying seven people capsized off the Podampeta coast in Ganjam district early Thursday morning.
The fisher has been identified as A Kaleya from San Nolia Nuagaon under Chhatrapur block.
The incident occurred around 4 am when Kaleya and six other fishermen ventured into the sea for fishing. The boat lost balance shortly after entering the waters near Podampeta and capsized, throwing all seven into the sea.
While six fishermen managed to swim back to safety, Kaleya remains unaccounted for.
The Indian Coast Guard and local authorities promptly launched a rescue operation to locate the missing fisherman, but no trace of Kaleya has been found so far, as per reports.
