Things got chippy at the US Open.
Taylor Townsend defeated Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets 7-5, 6-1 in at the US Open and as they went to shake hands, Ostapenko popped off.

The Latvian star was displeased by Townsend’s actions after the win and was visibly upset with her.
The two got into a heated shouting match, to which Townsend quickly dismissed and proceeded to fire up the crowd.
“It’s competition,” Townsend said after the match.
“People get upset when they lose. Some people say bad things. She told me I have no class and no education and to see what happens when we get outside the U.S.
“I’m looking forward to it. I beat her in Canada outside the U.S. So let’s see what else she has to say.”
Townsend wasn’t backing down from the Grand Slam winner, as she is on to the third round of the US Open for the first time since 2023.
