ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’ll get a brief break from the passing showers Wednesday night before another round of rain moves in on Thursday. Ahead of the rain, it’ll be breezy and milder, with highs reaching back into the mid 70s. The day starts off dry with some sun, but clouds return through the morning, and showers will be moving in during the afternoon from west to east. Some of the showers could be moderate to heavy for a brief period, and some thunder is also possible. Most areas will see about 0.25″ to 0.75″ of rain by Thursday late evening.
Our cold front passes through by Friday morning, but it’ll be cool enough once again for another round of scattered lake enhanced rain showers through the morning hours, tapering into the afternoon. It’ll also turn much cooler for Friday, with highs in the lower half of the 60s.
The Labor Day Weekend won’t feature sizzling temperatures, it will be a very nice weekend. Outside of a stray shower on Saturday, we should see fair weather with more sunshine. Highs on Saturday will flirt with 70 degrees. Sunday hits the mid 70s and Labor Day the upper 70s with a mostly sunny sky and low humidity.
We’ll continue that slow climb back into the lower 80s through the middle of next week, before another cold front knocks us back by week’s end.
