NEW ALAMEIN, Egypt, Aug 26 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Monday evening at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to follow up on the implementation of Law No. 170 of 2025 regulating state ownership in wholly or partially state-owned companies.
Attending the meeting were Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania al-Mashat, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, and economic expert Hashem al-Dessouky.
Cabinet Spokesperson Mohamed al-Homsani said the meeting discussed proposed mechanisms to enforce the law, underscoring its role in empowering the private sector and strengthening governance of state participation in economic activities.
He added that the legislation underscores the government’s commitment to divest from certain stakes, in line with the privatization program and the efforts of the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) to maximize the value of state assets.
The spokesman stressed the importance of agreeing on clear mechanisms to accelerate implementation, given the large number of state-owned companies and the diversity of their activities across various sectors. (MENA)
