Letter: Texas and California are both wrong ...Middle East

Rafael Perez’s article “Defend democracy by attacking it?” was spot on.

What Texas is doing is wrong. What California is doing is also wrong but there has to be some response to what Donald Trump and the Republican Party are trying to do to maintain control and make a mockery of the 2026 midterm elections.

I will state for the last time, this country is more centrist than it is left or right. And the extremes on both sides make both parties look ridiculous.

I know we are better than what we are portraying. Our representatives on both sides don’t care about what we want, they only care about keeping their jobs and maintaining power.

As a people, we should stand up, make our representatives accountable, get them to work on issues and problems we care about, not the nonsense smoke and mirrors they pretend matters.

I ask you to vote for candidates that can cross the aisle and create bipartisan legislation that made this the greatest country on the planet in the past. Hopefully, we can get there again.
