Oman squad for Asia Cup 2025 announced, Jatinder Singh named captain

On Monday, August 25, Oman Cricket announced the 17-man squad of the Oman National Cricket Team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

Jatinder Singh has been named as the skipper of the Oman National Cricket Team for the continental tournament, and Duleep Mendis will be serving as the head coach.

    The Oman National Cricket Team will be making their first-ever appearance in the Asia Cup in the upcoming edition of the tournament. They have been placed in Group A, alongside India, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.

    Oman clinched a spot for the competition after finishing as runners-up in the 2024 ACC Premier Cup at home.

    Veteran opener Jatinder Singh will be leading the team that consists of Hammad Mirza, Mohammed Nadeem, and Vinayak Shukla in the batting lineup.

    Also, Hassnain Ali Shah, Mohammad Imran, Faisal Shah, Sufyan Mehmood, and Shakeel Ahmed form a good spin-bowling unit. Four debutants feature in the squad: Sufyan Yousuf, Zikriya Islam, Faisal Shah, and Nadeem Khan.
