A 22-year-old man was shot several times after a crash in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood Sunday morning.
According to police, the man was driving in the 380 block of West Chicago Avenue at approximately 1:46 a.m. when he was involved in a traffic crash.
Shortly after that crash, an individual who was not involved in the collision showed up at the scene, got out of a vehicle, and opened fire. The 22-year-old man was struck multiple times in the chest by gunfire, and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
The victim in the shooting was rushed to an area hospital by paramedics, and was listed in critical condition.
No suspects are in custody, and an investigation remains underway.
