Things might be all change in James Gunn's new look DC Universe right now, but there's one thing that is staying the same – John Cena is back as Peacemaker.
Following a brief cameo in this summer's blockbuster Superman, the wrestler-turned-actor has now reprised his role in a second season of the hit show focusing on the titular vigilante, with the first episode available to watch now on Sky Max and NOW.
The reason that this show is continuing while other projects from the previous DC regime have been axed and/or retconned is fairly straight-forward: Gunn himself in the showrunner. And the decision to continue seems to be a good one so far, with the new season being met with critical acclaim so far – including a four star review from RadioTimes.com.
Of course, going back to his days at the helm of the Guardians of the Galaxy films in the MCU, one thing that Gunn is well known for is his expertise when it comes to needle drops. And if the first episode of the new season is anything to go by, fans can look forward to another excellent soundtrack.

As well as some great tracks throughout the episodes, the new season also boasts a brand new theme song – with the 2010 hit Oh Lord by Cincinnati rock band Foxy Shazam replacing Wig Wam's Do You Wanna Taste It as the song that plays over the opening dance number.
Gunn himself announced the new number at San Diego Comic-Con in July, describing Foxy Shazam as his "favourite band in the world" and even "objectively the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world."
Later, he told The Wrap: "I think that the lyrics are very much about what happens in season 2. I think that in the same way Do Ya Wanna Taste It really captured the flavour, both the light and the dark sides of Season 1, the same is true of Oh Lord."
