Mizzou will play both Beau Pribula and Sam Horn on Thursday in its season opener against Central Arkansas.
What the exact rotation looks like remains to be seen. If Eli Drinkwitz knows what it is already, he’s not ready to reveal it.
“We have a plan in place and have discussed with the team and feel prepared to execute that plan, and don’t feel the need to share that plan with you. So, just want to make sure that we all know that,” Drinkwitz said on Saturday.
Pribula comes in with more game experience as Drew Allar’s backup at Penn State, being utilized in packages to take advantage of his dual-threat tendencies. Horn, a 2022 signee, is more acquainted with Drinkwitz’s offensive system.
Drinkwitz’s quarterback decision won’t come after Thursday’s Week 1 game. He revealed in a statement on Thursday his plan to get both Pribula and Horn in the contest.
On Saturday, the Tigers’ head coach complimented both Pribula and Horn for their play in both preseason and during the spring, but added that he felt that “the best course of action” is to give them another few days of practice and the Central Arkansas game to make their case before a final decision is made.
Mizzou and Central Arkansas meet at Faurot Field on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
