THE top boss of BJ’s Wholesale Club has officially confirmed the expansion of a new payment method, available in all of the chain’s nearly 300 US locations.
The payment system, giving rival retailer Costco a run for its money, allows shoppers to avoid lengthy checkout lines.
While Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s are all considered major players in the wholesale club space, the latter retailer operates on a smaller scale than the other two.
However, BJ’s is still a strong competitor with a loyal customer base, experiencing significant membership growth.
One of the ways that the retailer has a leg up on its rivals, especially Costco, is through its advanced ExpressPay service.
The CEO of BJ’s, Robert Eddy, touched on how the wholesale club is improving this key service for its 8 million members at the company’s second quarter earnings call on Friday morning.
