The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation at a residence in northern Pittsboro Thursday morning, with help from police in Kentucky.
A release from the sheriff’s office at 10:44 a.m. said deputies were called to 400 Forest Creek Drive — a residential road not far from U.S. 15-501 and Briar Chapel — and “immediately secured the area” upon arrival. Few details were shared in the alert, but the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said its investigators were coordinating with the Florence Police Administration in Florence, Kentucky as part of the response.
The sheriff’s office’s release said from its preliminary investigation, law enforcement does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public’s safety. No other information is being publicly shared as of 11 a.m., but the agency said additional details will be released “as the investigation permits.”
