SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (KRON) -- Emergency crews are responding to a large apartment fire in San Rafael Thursday morning. As of 6:54 a.m., the fire, located on the 500 block of Canal Street, is considered contained, the San Rafael Police Department said.
Two neighboring apartment complexes were evacuated as a precaution as firefighters attacked the flames. At least 50 people have been displaced, and the American Red Cross is responding, police told KRON4.
Multiple injuries have been reported in the fire, according to SRPD. The severity of injuries is currently unknown.
