ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Some thick low lying clouds over the region this morning alongside cool temperatures is making it feel a little fall-like. There’s a bit of a drizzle ongoing as well, which will help to make the air and ground a little less dry. We should have some partial clearing by this evening, as temperatures peak in the low 70s, but overall, it’ll be a cool and mostly cloudy summer day.
Tomorrow warm weather returns with highs near 80, alongside plenty of sun, and Saturday temperatures peak in the upper 80s with chances for thunder overnight through Sunday as a cold front sweeps through. The low pressure system associated with the cold front will stick around and keep swirling north of us for another day or so, producing more chances for some beneficial rain. Cool air from Canada will be funneled in afterwards, bringing our temperatures down to the 70s and even upper 60s at one point from Monday through at least next Saturday. This cool trend is expected to continue through early September.
