The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled right-handed pitcher Bryce Jarvis from Triple-A and optioned reliever Andrew Hoffmann.
The move gives the D-backs some length, with Jarvis stretched out and starting in Reno with 17 appearances and 70.1 innings of work so far this year. He carries an 8.19 ERA and a .313 opponent batting average in the minors.
Jarvis has 63 games (one start) of MLB experience over the past three seasons. He brings a mid-90s mph fastball along with heavy usage of a slider and changeup.
In eight games and 14.1 innings this year with Arizona, he has a 4.40 ERA and allowed seven earned runs, 13 hits and seven walks with 13 strikeouts.

He is swapped for Hoffmann, who was acquired in the Randal Grichuk trade with the Kansas City Royals.
Hoffmann, 25, made three appearances for Kansas City in his MLB debut season before having a rough go in seven games with the Diamondbacks.
He has allowed eight earned runs (12 total) over 11.0 innings with Arizona, striking out 12 and walking nine.
He posted three holds and two blown saves with the D-backs.
