A TENNIS star who stormed to success in Cincinnati has had to pull out of the US Open.
Terence Atmane was due to head into Flushing Meadows in incredible recent form.
He smashed his way to the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Open last week.
The Frenchman was then beaten by world No1 superstar Jannik Sinner.
However, he will now miss the US Open after a devastating injury was found.
It comes on the eve of the tournament, with qualifying already well underway.
He was due to play British ace Jan Choinski, who got a bye to the next round.
The 23-year-old made the announcement over his foot problem on social media.
“Hello everyone,” he started the Instagram post with.
“After a foot MRI yesterday in NY we detected an intermediate grade partial tearing of the first MTP joint [a] Grade 2 muscle injury involving the medial head of the flexor hallucis brevis.
“Low-grade partial tearing of the medial sesamoidal phalangeal ligament.
“Which in other terms won’t make me able to play the US Open.
“I do feel sad about it because with the last result I want to push for more.
“But trying to be smart and get myself ready for Asia was the best decision for my team and I.”
Atmane entered Cincinnati qualifying as the No136 player in the PIP ATP Rankings.
He then left as the world No69 after his astonishing showing in Mason, Ohio.

THE tennis world has descended upon New York City for the fourth and final slam of the year.
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows will have the eyes of the sporting universe upon it.
The 2025 US Open takes place from Sunday 24 August to Sunday 7 September.
