On Tuesday, Wall announced that he would be retiring from the game of basketball with an emotional video on social media.
“Basketball will always be in my life. As new opportunities present themselves, I feel now is the time to walk confidently into my next chapter. Thank you for every cheer, every moment. Retired, but never done,” he said. “Doing it the Wall way.”

He was only on campus for one season, but he teamed up with DeMarcus Cousins to help the team go 34-3 and make it to the Elite Eight.

He averaged 16.6 PPG, 6.5 APG and 4.3 RPG in his freshman year, and was then drafted by the Washington Wizards with the No. 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.
In the NBA, he helped take the Wizards to new heights. His best season was in 2016, when he averaged a career-high 23.1 points and 10.7 assists. He teamed up with fellow all-star guard Bradley Beal to form one of the most dynamic backcourts in the league during that time.
He was a 5-time All-Star in the NBA, but unfortunately, injuries derailed the latter part of his career. In his final four years, he was able to play in only 147 out of a possible 328 games.
