Ali Vincent is just fine watching Netflix's documentary about the reality show she once won from afar.

The Season 5 winner of the weight-loss reality show admits she was approached to participate. But after several conversations with producers, she chose to decline.

    "I think I was probably one of the first people that they talked to," Vincent, 50, exclusively tells Parade. "And I was talking to them for quite a while."

    Despite being shown in background footage, Vincent isn't interviewed by Netflix cameras due to contract negotiations, among other reasons. But after a recent conversation with her mom and partner from the show, Bette-Sue Burkland, she has no regrets.

    "I sent her a link and was like, 'Well, what do you think?'" Vincent says. "And the next day, I was like, 'I'm glad I didn't do it. Boring and poor me stories.'"

    The mom of 3 was the first female to take home the $250,000 cash prize on the NBC show in 2008. She started out at 234 pounds. and dropped 47% of her body fat to weigh in at 122 pounds at the show's finale. Although certain contestants interviewed for Netflix's documentary slam the reality show, Vincent says every person's journey was unique to them, and her views are not the same.

    "Absolutely not," Vincent says. "Not even remotely close. I know all of the people that were interviewed except one lady. I thought [that] was super interesting, because I'm like, 'Well, who's this one lady that I don't know what season was she on? Because she's surely got a lot to say about Loser, and she's probably got the most screen time on the documentary and had nothing good to say about it."

    Vincent went on to be the star of the Biggest Loser brand for quite some time, starring in 24 Hour Fitness ads and a line of products from the show. She even went on to write a book about her time on the infamous ranch and launch a successful talk show, Live Big With Ali Vincent.

    To this day, Vincent credits all her successes, including having her own children, to her time on the reality show.

    "I was like, 'Well, I don't know what you're going to be saying about the Biggest Loser, but if you truly are doing a documentary on how Biggest Loser affected people in the light and lives in the world, in America, it's pretty hard to do a documentary without mentioning me, the first female to win,'" Vincent saysabout her early conversation with Netflix producers. "I was the face on everything. I was the one that was out there"

    She jokingly adds, "Well, I guess it wasn't that hard. [But that was] probably my biggest thought."
