With just 12 days till kickoff, the anticipation is building for the Texas Longhorns’ much-anticipated revenge match against the No. 1 ranked team in the nation and the defending National Champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes.
On August 30, Coach Steve Sarkisian and his squad will face quite the challenge as they step outside their familiar Darrell K Royal Stadium in Austin to compete on enemy turf at Ohio Stadium.
The Longhorns now know they will be going up against an offensive force anchored by redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Sayin.
Coach Sarkisian recalls heavily recruiting Sayin—a talented passer with immense potential—who attended Texas camps for two consecutive years when he was a high school recruit.
“We recruited him hard here,” Sarkisian noted. “He is a very gifted passer and really good player. We’ve got a lot of familiarity with him.”

“Obviously, he’s got great weapons around him,” Sarkasian added. “He is the type of guy who can utilize those weapons effectively within a solid system. This poses a significant challenge for us.”
Among those weapons are standout transfers tight end Max Klare and running back CJ Donaldson. The star-studded lineup continues with All-American wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate — players who can change the game at any moment.
Last season Texas was handed its only two losses by Ohio State and Georgia—but now the Longhorns are hungry for redemption against the Buckeyes. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on Aug. 30.
