The film version of Richard Osman's best-seller The Thursday Murder Club opens in selected cinemas on 22 August and on Netflix this Thursday (fittingly).
With Steven Spielberg as producer and Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie starring as the quartet of retirement home sleuths, it reminds me of the 1970s when Hollywood made big-budget films of Agatha Christie's finest murder mysteries with the biggest stars of the time.
Osman admits to being star-struck by all the household names in the film, but that hasn't stopped him making tea-time quiz House of Games. Pick up this week's issue to find out how down to earth he is (spoiler alert: very).
Some people say that Osman has been lucky to attract such stars for this adaptation, but after reading our interview I suggest he's made every ounce of that luck himself.
