Better Call Saul Star Addresses Rumors of Potential Series Revival

It's been three years since fans last saw Bob Odenkirk's ambulance-chasing lawyer, Saul Goodman, in AMC's award-winning drama series, Better Call Saul.

But in interim period following the show's critically acclaimed conclusion, viewers only continued to wonder whether Jimmy McGill's criminal alter ego might one day make a return to the small screen.

Speaking with Today, Odenkirk himself weighed in on the possibility of a future Better Call Saul continuation: a project he said he'd instantly agree to join if it ever came up.

“That part turned my life around, and I’ve given more to that part than anything I’ve done,” Odenkirk said. “Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould created that show. They are some of the best writers who ever worked in TV. So if they were to think of something in that world, of course I would do it.”

However, Odenkirk also acknowledged that a potential follow-up to Better Call Saul remains extremely unlikely, given Goodman's ill-fated incarceration at the end of the show and both Gilligan and Gould's recent television projects.

“I think they’ve all moved on to some more amazing projects that you’ll soon see,” the Nobody star teased.

As Odenkirk said, the 58-year-old Gilligan has recently moved on to the Apple TV+ sci-fi drama, Pluribus. With a premiere date set for November 7 of this year, the series will star Rhea Seehorn of Better Call Saul fame, marking her second major collaboration with the Breaking Bad creator.

Even with his own personal enthusiasm for a future Better Call Saul revival, the former Breaking Bad star pointedly said the only feasible way to execute a sequel series would be following Saul Goodman's time behind bars.

“He’s not getting out [of prison]," Odenkirk bluntly said. "If there’s another Saul show, it takes place inside prison.”
