Ozzy Osbourne's countless U.K. fans were undoubtedly excited about the premiere of a new documentary about the Prince of Darkness.
That is, until the BBC abruptly pulled the film from its programming the day of, according to media reports including Deadline.
Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was supposed to launch on BBC One Monday night, Aug. 18. As the U.K. channel's website explains, the documentary chronicles the last chapter of the late Black Sabbath founder’s life, with contributions from wife Sharon Osbourne as well as his children Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne.
With just hours to go until Coming Home was due to broadcast, the highly anticipated film was removed from schedules, a BBC spokeswoman confirmed.
"The film has moved in the schedules and we’ll confirm new [transmission] details in due course,” the spokeswoman told outlets such as Deadline.
As of Monday, it's unclear why the doc has been pushed back, with no new date set just yet. Given that Ozzy's death was so recent, it's possible there are some last-minute tweaks in the works before the end result goes live — but nothing has been confirmed at this point.
Coming Home was announced in 2022 but was delayed when Ozzy became ill, as Deadline reports. The project then turned from a series into a feature documentary when the heavy metal icon passed away.
Ozzy died at age 76 on July 22, 2025, with his family then issuing a statement that "he was with his family and surrounded by love." On Aug. 5, it was confirmed he died from a heart attack, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease listed as contributing factors.
