ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two people were rescued from a sailing vessel in distress on the Genesee River on Sunday afternoon.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the 32-foot vessel with two people aboard had engine failure and, despite anchoring, was still being pushed to shore.
The Coast Guard received a radio report at 2:20 p.m., and a Coast Guard Station Rochester 45-foot response boat arrived to find the vessel pushed into the rocks. The boat owner and passenger were taken about the Coast Guard boat and brought to the Port of Rochester.
