Seth Collet from Redwood City, California has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at UC-Santa Barbara for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Collet is a “Best of the Rest” ranked recruit in the boys high school class of 2025.

Collet swims for Ladera Oaks and most recently competed at US Summer Nationals in June. There he swam a lifetime best 4:30.49 in the 400 IM to finish 40th. He also time trialed the 200 free and 400 free, setting lifetime bests in both events with a 1:52.35 in the 200 free and a 4:00.61 in the 400 free.
He just finished his senior year for Woodside High School. In May, he represented the team at the CIF State Championships. There he was 3rd in the 500 free (4:22.66) and 7th in the 200 free (1:38.39).
Collet’s Best SCY Times Are:
200 free: 1:36.05 500 free: 4:19.73 400 IM: 3:48.05The UCSB men finished captured the 2025 Big West Conference title with 813 points, finishing ahead of Hawaii who had 761 points. UCSB was led by Kyle Brill who won the 200 IM (1:43.53) and 400 IM (3:42.95).
Based on his best times, Collet is a huge pick up for the team. His best time in the 400 IM would have been 2nd behind Brill while his 200 free would have also been 2nd. Collet’s best time in the 500 free would have captured the conference title by over four seconds as UCSB’s Owen Berry won in a 4:23.76.
Collet will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2029 along with Diego Castaneda, Lucas Hubbard, Henry Heit, and Aneesh Veeravatnam.
