Geneva police officer on leave amid criminal investigation resigns

GENEVA, N.Y. — One of two Geneva Police officers placed on administrative leave in May after a criminal investigation has resigned, according to the police chief.

Chief Ronald Eveland states in a letter that Officer Nathan Jacon has resigned from his position. Jacon, who joined the department in 2023, has been on administrative leave since May 2025 in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation by the Ontario Count Sheriff’s Office.

Jacon and Sgt. David Felice were placed on leave after Officer Michael Tapscott, a 13-year veteran of the department, was arrested after being accused of selling Adderall while on duty. He was put on leave and has since resigned.
