Developed in partnership with the City of Cedar Rapids, the 612-acre site will have seven data centre buildings in Alliant Energy’s Big Cedar Industrial Center.
It’s estimated it will create 2,000 construction and permanent jobs.
QTS is working with Alliant Energy to reduce the project’s environmental impact with water-free cooling technology and carbon-free energy sources.

Google plans to invest $7bn into Iowa data centres, including the Cedar Rapids development, to boost its cloud and AI capabilities, Des Moines Register reports.
