ROCHESTER, N.Y. — News10NBC has obtained documents accusing three local men of running a months-long mail theft ring.
Lamarious Bradley, Lucius Bradley, and Chad Brown are all charged with mail theft, unlawful possession of USPS mailbox keys, and conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
Federal investigators say that starting in November of 2023, the defendants used stolen mailbox keys to seal mail from USPS mailboxes in towns including Irondequoit and Brighton and cashed checks that were inside the mail.
In the criminal compliant, it says investigators used surveillance video and found a car that belonged to Lucius Bradley, and placed a GPS tracking device on it.
On Nov. 29, 2023, a Monroe County Sheriff Deputy did a traffic stop on Lucius Bradley’s car. On Dec. 7, 2024, a search warrant was executed at Lucius Bradley’s home and at Exclusive Snacks and Lounge.
During the search warrants, investigators recovered Western Union money orders in various amounts and a receipt in the amount of $1,403 for money orders, along with various checks not under the names of the defendants.
They also recovered video surveillance from Exclusive Snacks and Lounge of what investigators say shows the defendants sorting through stolen mail.
Also in the criminal complaint, it includes various text messages between the defendants where investigators say they seem to be talking about a bank fraud conspiracy. There’s also a photo they say is of Lucius Bradley showing off a wad of cash.
Brown remains in police custody, but the Bradley’s are not. Check back for any further updates.
