Based on the novel by May Cobb, The Hunting Wives stars Malin Akerman as Margo, a Texan queen bee with major skeletons in her closet who lives in a small, wealthy town in Texas. Brittany Snow plays Sophie, a Massachusetts transplant who feels like a fish out of water in the conservative enclave, who befriends Akerman and gets sucked into her life of chaos, cocktails, and mysterious deaths.
Showrunner Rebecca Cutterpreviously shared that she instantly loved the sex, lies, and loaded guns that permeate the series.
“When I first read the novel, I was in awe of its flagrant horniness and glorification of bad behavior,” said Cutter. “There was something so free about it! My goal was to keep all that juice, but to ground it in a recognizable portrayal of Texas today, without shying away from the elephant in the room – politics.”
