“I knew from Peter's face that he was guilty, and in that moment, I thought I was going to pass out onstage, in front of hundreds of people,” Brinkley continued. “When I stood back up, I asked the man for his card, but he told me he didn't have one and that he was a police officer in town, so all I had to do was to go into the station if I wanted the full story.”
The interaction set things in motion for Brinkley to divorce Cook and what followed was a drawn-out custody battle over their daughter, Sailor. Their divorce was finalized in 2008.
Before Cook, Brinkley was married to Billy Joel, real estate tycoon Richard Taubman and French artist Jean-François Allaux. Cook went on to marry Jancou, 26, in 2023, four years after he popped the question.
