The Weld RE-4 School District will celebrate the grand opening of Ridgeline Middle School from 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14.
The free event will include an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, remarks by school officials, open house activities and light refreshments, according to a Weld RE-4 news release.
The Weld RE-4 community passed a $271 million bond package in November 2022 to address capacity concerns and critical infrastructure needs. Based on both middle schools in Windsor and Severance facing capacity challenges, the district used bond money to construct Ridgeline Middle School, a new 155,000-square-foot middle school that can house up to 900 students.
Ridgeline Middle School, at 1100 N. 15th St. in Windsor, welcomed sixth grade students back for the first day of school Wednesday. Ahead of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, grades 7-8 will have their first day Thursday.
