ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Did you notice a peculiar light in the sky on Tuesday night? A viewer, Ollie DeBellis in Webster, sent us photos of what appears to be a glowing orb.
The First Alert Weather team looked into it and, turns out, it’s likely a rocket launched in Florida on Tuesday night.
The United Launch Alliance sent up the Vulcan rocket carrying two military satellites. One is classified and the other is an experimental satellite to test upgraded atomic clocks and navigation technology. L3Harris in Rochester developed some of that technology.
