Former Alabama running back Jase McClellan, a member of the Crimson Tide’s 2020 national championship team, has a new NFL home.
After spending his rookie season with the Atlanta Falcons, McClellan has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, remaining in the NFC South.
McClellan saw limited time with the Falcons in 2024, recording just 13 carries. The Texas native was a 4-star recruit when he signed with Alabama out of the 2020 class.
He totaled 23 carries for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Tide as a true freshman, including a 6-carry, 95-yard performance against Arkansas as he added a touchdown.
In 2021, he had 40 carries for 191 yards and a TD in 5 games, but a knee injury against Ole Miss ended his season. In 2022, he bounced back to take 112 attempts for 655 yards and 7 touchdowns while catching 14 passes for 174 yards and 3 scores. As a senior, he posted 803 yards and 6 TDs on 166 carries before the Falcons took him in the 6th round in 2024.
