Actor Jared Padalecki is giving an update about his on-screen reunion with his former Supernaturalco-stars Jensen Acklesand Misha Collins.
Collider reported that Padalecki shared some details about him and Collins, who played angel Castiel in Supernatural, filming for the upcoming fifth and final season of The Boys during an August 2025 panel at the Fan Expo Boston. Padalecki teased that his Boys character is fond of Soldier Boy, played by Ackles.
“I’ll say this much — my character is very excited to meet Soldier Boy," said Padalecki during the panel.
The actor, who played Sam Winchester in Supernatural which ended in 2020 after 15 seasons, said his new character won't appear until the fifth episode of The Boys Season 5.
“It’s Episode 5 of Season 5. I think they’re putting out the first four episodes and then a little bit of time and then the final four episodes," said Padalecki.
He also referenced that The Boys is known for its adult themes.
“And for those who are not yet 18, do not watch it," quipped the Gilmore Girls star.
In a June 2025 interview with Collider, Ackles, who played Sam's older brother Dean Winchester, shared his excitement to reunite with Padalecki and Collins in The Boys.
“Look, I know those guys very well. I consider them both enormously great friends and brothers,” said Ackles to the publication. “People were like, ‘Is it odd being back on set?’ No, it was actually more comfortable than people would ever imagine. It was like going to dinner with them. I think that kind of connection, that kind of camaraderie, that kind of history that you have with somebody — when you can bring it back together — it was very easy. It felt natural.”
The Boys, which began airing in 2019, is created by Eric Kripke, who was the creator of Supernatural. Kripke stepped down from being the showrunner of Supernatural after its fifth season.
