CLIFTON SPRINGS, N.Y. — A woman is accused of intentionally setting fires inside and outside of her apartment building in Ontario County, forcing residents to evacuate.
Kiarra Robinson is charged with arson. She’s accused of setting the fires on the evening of Monday, Aug. 4, at the building on Broad Street in the Village of Clifton Springs.
Ontario County sheriff’s deputies say they arrived to find Robinson setting multiple items on fire outside of the building. They say Robinson had also started a fire inside the building, which another resident put out before first responders arrived.
Deputies say Robison then entered the building, lighting more items on fire and throwing them at deputies before going into her apartment. Deputies evacuated the building, then went into her apartment. They say there were several small fires in the apartment, including on top of the stove.
Deputies arrested Robinson and an ambulance took her to the hospital for treatment. After that, she was taken to the Ontario County Jail. She’s due to answer to her charge in Manchester Town Court. No one was injured by the fires.
