Bhubaneswar: A first-year Plus-III girl student of Bhadrak Autonomous College was found dead in a private hostel bathroom near the college on Tuesday morning.
The student, hailing from Lunga village under Basudevpur police limits, was discovered hanging by hostel inmates, as per reports.
The student had returned to the hostel on Monday after visiting home and attended classes that day. She allegedly took her own life using a scarf in the hostel bathroom. The body was found when fellow students forced open the locked bathroom door.
Bhadrak Town Police has arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
