ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’ll likely experience our 2nd heat wave of the summer on Tuesday, with our 3rd day at 90 degrees or hotter. Monday hit the lower 90s, which also makes it the 10th time so far this summer at 90 or hotter. Tuesday should make 11. Outside of an isolated afternoon shower along a lake breeze boundary, we should stay mostly dry during the day.
That will change on Wednesday with the arrival of a cold front. This will bring a better chance for scattered showers and a few storms, but also will break our heat wave and string of 90 degree days. It’ll be the most humid day of the week, but temperatures will be held back in the 80s. The rest of the work week will be very comfortable, with highs in the 80s and low humidity, along with plenty of sunshine making a return for Thursday and Friday.
There are some signs that some heat will return by the weekend, with highs back near 90 on Saturday. Sunday could also be a hot day, but we’ll watch the timing of our next cold front and round of rain.
