BATAVIA, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills legend and former quarterback Jim Kelly was in Batavia Monday for his charity’s annual Celebrity Golf Classic.
“Kelly for Kids” helps disadvantaged and disabled youth in western New York. During the event, Kelly shared a positive update about his grandson, who has been hospitalized with health problems since his birth earlier this summer.
“I think as of about a couple hours ago, they took him off his medicine. And now it’s just a matter of time. Waiting, keep praying. The outpouring of love and prayers we’ve had from so many people is just amazing,” Kelly said.
Kelly also shared on Instagram that his grandson was taken off oxygen on Aug. 5 and is now breathing on his own. Kelly also said in the post the doctors are going to try and take him off his medication and hope he will be able to stay off the medication.
