DENVER (KDVR) — A crash involving multiple vehicles, including a semitrailer and a pickup truck, closed eastbound U.S. 36 in Westminster on Friday afternoon.
All traffic was being diverted to Federal Boulevard as investigators worked on the crash, which occurred between Federal Boulevard and Pecos Street.
SkyFOX flew over the scene at about 3:40 p.m. and saw a semitrailer with significant front-end damage sitting in the right-hand lane of the highway.
Video shared by a viewer with FOX31 showed the damage to the truck, and showed multiple first responders working to extract the semitrailer's driver from the wreckage. He appeared conscious but injured.
Traffic was slow or stopped as far west as 104th Avenue from Federal Boulevard.
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash and said that the roadway will be closed for an unknown period. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
