There has been a lot of online discourse lately about the "great jeans" ad that actress Sydney Sweeney did for American Eagle. But 50 years ago, The Monkees star and band member Micky Dolenz was showing off his "great jeans" in this resurfaced commercial from 1976.

In the video, a shaggy-haired, smoldering Dolenz is definitely in on the joke as he wink-winks at the camera and says, "I wanna talk to you about my pants. These are America's original blue jeans. The best part is when he says "big assets," and the commercial does a close-up on his posterior. In fact, one commenter wrote just that: "The best part is the butt in tight jeans!!!"
In the comments, fans are cracking up.
