BATAVIA, N.Y. — The Batavia Police Department has announced in the upcoming weeks, they will be doing “random sale sting operations” as a way to identify and shutdown illegal cannabis shops in the City of Batavia.

The police department says this is “necessary,” in order to protect people in the city from the “risks associated with illegal and unregulated cannabis products.”

    They say anyone selling unlicensed cannabis products will be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” and say any property owners knowingly allowing illegal cannabis sales will also be held accountable.
