One dead after shooting at bar in Old North Columbus ...Middle East

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A heavy police presence developed outside of a north Columbus bar and one suspect is on the loose after another person was fatally shot early Friday morning.

According to Columbus police, officers arrived to Ledo’s Tavern, in Old North Columbus, between the Ohio State campus and Clintonville. One victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the shooting occurred outside the bar on the patio, just as the bar was closing at around 2:30 a.m. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later, while the suspected shooter fled the scene in a white BMW, police said.

The incident closed area streets around the intersection of North High Street and Duncan Street for several hours while authorities investigate, which includes reviewing video surveillance inside and outside of the bar. All streets were opened at 5:30 a.m.
