Jordan Peeles Upcoming Horror Movie Him Drops Trailer

Jordan Peele fans are about to be very happy people. With Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions attached to the project, expectations are running high.

With a release date a few months away and a new trailer to watch, we already have a pretty good idea of the plot and cast of Him. Here’s what fans should know about it.

While Him is being marketed as the new Jordan Peele film, it should be noted that Peele isn’t directing. Justin Tipping is the director of Him. He’s credited as a producer, and his company Monkeypaw Productions is making the movie. That likely means he had quite a bit of involvement, but it’s impossible to say how much – and it’s a good way to acknowledge that movies come from many more minds than just the director’s (or producer’s, for that matter).

What is the movie Him about?

As far as what Him is actually about, it features a talented young football player who’s invited to train at a compound with one of the sport’s legends. According to Universal, “The legendary quarterback takes his protégé on a blood-chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, power and pursuit of excellence at any cost.”

Him will hit theaters on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025 – just as we transition to the autumn season, which is a pretty fitting time for a horror drop. The film is already completed, according to IMDB, and an official trailer has been released.

    Trailer for the movie Him

Yes! The full trailer for Him was released on Aug. 6, 2025.

The official teaser trailer for Him was released by Universal in April.

Reminiscent of other films that Peele worked on, like Get Out and Candyman, there’s a strong sense of plot outside the horror element: which in Him, is about football. That means drive. Determination. Athleticism. As Peele fans know, there’s a point where those things tip too far and something begins to go very wrong.

Who is in the cast of Him?

The main cast of Him has been announced, and it looks like it will focus on a few key characters.

    Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade

Tyriq Withers plays protagonist Cameron Cade, a young football player determined to follow his talent as far as it will get him.

In a more in-depth synopsis posted by Universal, the character is described as “a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life, and identity, to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma.

“Just when all seems lost, Cam receives a lifeline when his hero, Isaiah White (Marlon Wayans), a legendary eight-time Championship quarterback and cultural megastar, offers to train Cam at Isaiah’s isolated compound that he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie White (Julia Fox; Uncut Gems, No Sudden Move). But as Cam’s training accelerates, Isaiah’s charisma begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for.”

Withers himself is a real-life athlete – a former football player for Florida State University. Now in his mid-20s, he started acting in 2019 and has made appearances in Atlanta, Legacies, Tell Me Lies and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

    Marlon Wayans as Isaiah White

Marlon Wayans is taking on the part of Isaiah White, a successful veteran quarterback who takes Withers’ character under his wing. Based on the synopsis, it appears he will be the villain of the movie – which might be interesting for fans to see, given Wayans’ past filmography.

The actor is most known for his parts in comedy films like White Chicks, Little Man, Don’t Be a Menace and Scary Movie (1 and 2). He has acted in dramas – including Requiem for a Dream – but for many this will be the first time they see him in a serious role.

    Julia Fox as Elsie White

Elsie White is the celeb influencer wife of Isaiah White, Wayans’ character. She's played by Julia Fox, an actress, model and media personality whose memoir Down The Drain made the bestsellers list in 2023.

Fox has appeared in the films Uncut Gems, No Sudden Move and Presence. But she, like Withers, is still pretty green in the industry, so it’ll be interesting to see how she portrays Elsie.
