DENVER (KDVR) — Commercial airline United Airlines was under a ground stop on Wednesday evening, impacting flights at Denver International Airport.
According to the ground stop alert posted by the Federal Aviation Administration, the carrier had asked for the ground stop to be issued due to a technology issue, but didn't say what that issue could be.
“Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports. We expect additional flight delays this evening as we work through this issue. Safety is our top priority, and we’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations," a United Airlines spokesperson told FOX31 on Wednesday night.
According to flight tracking software FlightAware, the airport had 412 delays as of about 7 p.m., and 10 cancelled flights. Of those delays, 176 were attributed to United Airlines.
