Joe Keery’s still battling strange fungi, and Liam Neeson’s back in action. Think Stranger Things meets Taken.
With Keery’s record-setting Netflix series coming to an end later this year, he’s not wasting any time throwing himself into other projects. While Neeson’s latest foray into comedy with the Naked Gun reboot is delighting audiences and critics alike, it looks like he’s returning to his action roots as the two team up in the new horror-comedy Cold Storage. However, the movie carries an unexpected emotional weight for the Saints and Sinners star.
Neeson’s late wife Natasha Richardson’s mother, Vanessa Redgrave, also stars in Cold Storage and it’s the first time the two have acted together in a film. After Richardson’s tragic death from a skiing accident in 2009, Neeson and Redgrave remained close. He previously said that even though he and his former mother-in-law don’t share any scenes in Cold Storage, he fully expects her to steal the show.

“The day she started work was the day I actually flew back home from Rome. But we were in the same hotel and so we had dinner,” Neeson told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published in March 2024. “Her character and her scenes in the film, she’s probably going to steal the movie. She’s perfect casting for it. It’s a good script and a good story. But, yeah, she’s going to steal the f--king movie.”
As Neeson continues to make headlines during the press tour for Naked Gun and for a potential burgeoning relationship with Pamela Anderson, fans can still see his love for Richardson. He recently spoke of how they met performing in the Broadway play Anna Christie in 1993 and getting married the following year, telling the New York Times, “It was great doing it every night with her and falling in love.”
