The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned that temperatures will rise across the country starting on Saturday, ending the truce of mild summer weather.
The apparent temperature in Cairo is expected to reach 39C during daytime hours next Monday, rising to 45C in the governorates of southern Upper Egypt.
The EMA further warned of increased relative humidity, significantly influencing the severity of the hot weather.
The country is currently witnessing significant increases in relative humidity, extending to large areas of the country’s northern sector.
Humidity also contributes to the formation of mist during the late night and early morning hours on water bodies, agricultural lands, and open roads, with light fog.
Wednesday’s weather
The EMA expects hot and humid weather to prevail during the day across most parts of the country on Wednesday, with very hot and humid weather in South Sinai and the south of the country, becoming slightly less hot and humid at night and in the early morning.
According to the EMA, the higher humidity levels will increase the sensation of heat by two to four degrees Celsius.
