Vikings Stud Receiver Jordan Addison Has Been Suspended (And He’ll Miss the Bears in Week 1)

The Minnesota Vikings are likely to be without star wide receiver Jordan Addison when they travel to Soldier Field to face the Chicago Bears in Week 1 on Monday Night Football.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter shares news that the Vikings wideout has been slapped with a three-game suspension to start the 2025 NFL season:

Jordan Addison’s suspension will take him out of Week 1 game vs. Bears

A potential Jordan Addison suspension has been on our radar since mid-July. That is when ESPN’s Kevin Seifert reported on the Vikings wideout’s jury trial from a 2024 DUI citation. We discussed that bit of news here. Addison initially pleaded not guilty, but eventually pleaded to a lesser charge that came with a punishment of probation. But even after that, the league still came down with a three-game suspension. And unless something wholly unpredictable happens and the suspension is overturned or eliminated, Addison will miss the Vikings’ Week 1 showdown against the Bears on Monday Night Football. This is a tough break for Minnesota, but a fortunate bit of news for Chicago’s defense as it prepares for Week 1.

Justin Jefferson is the star of stars when it comes to the Vikings offense. But that does not mean you can sleep on Jordan Addison. As a rookie in 2023, Addison posted a 70-catch, 911-yard, 10-touchdown season. Addison followed that up by putting up 70 receptions, 875 receiving yards, and nine more touchdowns. Teaming Jefferson and Addison has made for quite the 1-2 punch for Minnesota’s offense. Throw in T.J. Hockenson, one of the best receiving tight ends in football, and the Vikes are an absolute pain in the butt to deal with in the passing game. Even with Jefferson and Hockenson available, losing Addison makes for a considerable blow.
