ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Air Quality Alert that has been in effect for our area due to wildfire smoke will continue again on Wednesday. The Air Quality Index is expected to hover in the 101-120 range on Wednesday, which keeps that alert in effect. If you don’t have to spend a lot of time outside working hard, don’t! Those who are sensitive to pollutants, the very young and those with underlying breathing conditions will also want to take it easy on Wednesday. The other story on Wednesday will be the return of a few showers into the afternoon. It won’t be a rain for everybody, and it won’t be enough rain, but at least it’ll be something.
Then the story will turn to the return of the summer sizzle by the weekend. Temperatures are expected to climb into the lower 90s again by Saturday, and continue through Sunday and Monday, possibly into Tuesday. Weather should also remain dry through the weekend.
Humidity will begin to ramp up, with dew points climbing back into the lower 70s as we head into next week. This will also increase our chances for some much needed rainfall.
