One of the most ambitious creator-led fundraisers has officially launched.
YouTube stars MrBeast and Mark Rober have kicked off #TeamWater, a global, monthlong campaign aiming to raise $40 million to build sustainable clean water across the globe.
The fundraiser went live August 1, and taps into the combined reach of over 3,000 creators — including influencers like Kai Cenat, the Stokes Twins, and Dude Perfect — and brings together platforms like YouTube, which has pledged $2 million, to tackle the world’s access to safe drinking water.
As of Tuesday morning, the website reports raising just under 10 million years’ worth of clean water access — the equivalent of nearly $10 million in donations.
“$1 = 1 year of clean water for someone in need,” MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, wrote on social media. “During August, me and countless other creators are going to be attempting to raise $40,000,000 to give 2,000,000 people clean drinking water for decades each!!!”

— MrBeast (@MrBeast) August 1, 2025At the heart of the campaign is WaterAid, the international nonprofit selected for its deep, community-based approach to sustainable solutions — including rainwater harvesting systems, solar-powered wells, and piped infrastructure tailored to local needs.
So far, funds are already earmarked for projects in countries like Colombia, Bangladesh, Ecuador, Malawi, and Kenya, according to the Associated Press.
In the U.S., funds will go to fix water supplies in cities like Jackson, Mississippi, and Rhodell, West Virginia, where aging infrastructure has left communities without reliable clean water.
“No matter how big a mass internet mobilization moment might be, real progress on these issues demands people continuing to pay attention and continuing to stay involved,” Matt Fitzgerald, the campaign’s digital strategist, told AP.
This isn’t the first time creators have rallied for global change.
MrBeast and Rober previously launched #TeamTrees in 2019, and #TeamSeas in 2021, raising over $50 million combined. Those efforts focused on reforestation and ocean cleanup.
