A Regional Transportation District train and a tractor-trailer collided in Aurora on Monday, temporarily shutting down RTD’s commuter rail A Line.
The crash happened at 9:21 a.m. Monday, near where the train passes the intersection of Smith Road and Sable Boulevard, RTD spokesperson Pauline Haberman said.
It’s unclear what caused the crash, but none of the 55 passengers on board were injured, Haberman said.
Smith Road is closed in both directions east of Sable Boulevard for the crash investigation, and northbound Sable is also closed at the train tracks, according to the Aurora Police Department.
A bus shuttle will replace the A Line between Central Park and 40th & Airport stations until further notice, Haberman said.
